The following deferral policy is applicable to some programs. Students should check with their departmental adviser to see if this policy applies to them. Graduate program acceptance and matriculation is for the semester indicated in the student’s acceptance letter.
On a case-by-case basis, students may request to defer their admission to either the following term or the following year. This request is subject to approval by the student's academic program coordinator and the Assistant Vice President for Graduate & Extended Learning. Students who do not enroll in the semester for which they have been granted a deferral will forfeit their place in the program.
Students who have forfeited acceptance into a program have up to one year to request that their acceptance be reinstated. However, granting this request remains at the discretion of the program and the Assistant Vice President for Graduate & Extended Learning. After that point, it will be necessary to reapply.
